Womens Shelter

Each one of us can imagine what it might be like to find ourselves away from home without any of our possessions. St John’s Anglican Church supports the plight of these women and children though the regular donation of clothing, items and monetary donations.

Anglican Board of Missions

ABM’s philosophy is based on a belief in holistic mission - that God calls us to serve people in all aspects of their lives, from the spiritual to the practical. Their mission also includes providing health and education services, as well as assisting in economic development initiatives. St John’s Anglican Church is blessed to be able to financially contribute to the mission of ABM.

Bush Ministry Fund

The aim of BMF is to maintain a caring ministry to families who live in towns and on properties in rural and remote areas. Through these grants, clergy can visit any property and are available to offer care and spiritual support, not only to Anglicans, but to anybody who seeks assistance in the community. St John’s Anglican Church is blessed to be able to financially contribute to the mission of BMF.

Bush Church Aid

These events are held four times a year on Saturday mornings at a range of cafe venues around Hervey Bay. Guest speakers are invited to address the gathering generally on subjects of particular interest to Christian women of all ages. The breakfasts provide the perfect opportunity to meet socially while learning valuable information on a host of stimulating subjects.

Koroipita Model Town

This joint project between St John’s Anglican Church and Fraser Coast Anglican Colledge is situated just outside Lautoka, Fiji. The Koroipita project was begun by Peter Drysdale and is primarily funded through New Zealand Aid. As part of this mission to Fiji, parishioners from our church have constructed houses, extensions to houses, built chicken coops, cookhouses, single beds, tables and security gates. We look forward to our annual trip to assist with the ongoing ministry of this mission.

Love in a Shoebox

Throughout the year, members of our church donate school supplies, hygiene products, clothing and cuddle toys as part of Operation Christmas Child. The items are packed into brightly wrapped shoeboxes, blessed and sent off around the middle of October to children in the South Pacific to share the Christmas spirit.
