The aims of St. John’s Parish Guild are to provide fellowship among our members and to contribute to the life of the parish, both in service and fundraising.

Our meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month (except December) at 1pm in the Parish Hall, Doolong Road, Wondunna and are followed by a time of fellowship over a simple afternoon tea. The monthly Street Stalls held on the third Friday of every month except January provide a regular source of income. The stall site is the Esplanade end of Con Souvlis Arcade, Torquay – time of set-up approximately 8am. Guild holds two major fund raising functions yearly; a Progressive Raffle (Tombola) mid year and an afternoon of Fun and Fashion hosted in conjunction with Anglican Thrift Market early in September; each of these functions being held in the Parish Hall, Doolong Road.

Some “housekeeping” aspects of the Administration Centre and the Worship Centre are Guild responsibilities, e.g. supplying tea, coffee, biscuits etc, also cleaning products and organising cleaning and flower rosters. Thankfully non Guild members provide some of the woman power to fill these rosters.

On request we provide, for a reasonable charge, refreshments following a funeral service and we are available for catering. Through our fund raising we are able to provide financial assistance toward Parish projects, donate to the wider community and support a Compassion Child.

Being a Guild member means that as well as playing a role in parish life, you are also part of a group always ready to support one another.
